NDLON fights wage theft, unsafe work conditions and other labor abuses. We deploy campaigns and digital tools to empower workers in defending their rights. Every worker, regardless of immigration status, has the right to fair pay, a safe workplace free of abuse, and to speak out against unsafe or unlawful conditions without fear of retaliation. Immigrants routinely endure exploitation, wage theft and dangerous conditions on the job—especially in construction, domestic work and day labor.
DALE Campaign
The DALE Campaign (Deferred Action for Labor Enforcement) has shown what’s possible when immigrant workers organize and demand action.
Through years of grassroots pressure led by day labor centers and organizations across the country, the federal Departments of Labor and Homeland Security took steps toward protecting immigrant whistleblowers. When workers organize, they can defend their rights and make change. But there is more work to do—and it will take all of us to ensure immigrant workers are truly protected.
Immigrant Workers are Emergency Second Responders
In times of disaster, immigrant day laborers step up as second responders—clearing debris, delivering aid, and helping communities recover.
At NDLON, we train workers in safety and rights, organize mutual aid brigades, and transform our Job Centers into emergency hubs. In Los Angeles, at the Pasadena Community Job Center, day laborers are leading fire relief efforts with courage, solidarity, and skill. While the system spreads fear and lies, our truth is on full display: Only the People Save the People.
